Middle School Students Enrolled in SJUSD Schools
Students currently enrolled in any school within the San José Unified boundaries who will be entering San José High as a new student in the 2025-26 school year, should verify their requested high school enrollment with the district Enrollment Center before the district deadline.
Representatives from SJHS schedule in-person visits and communicate with 8th grade counselors from our middle schools to help all rising 9th graders submit course requests each spring. Including helping students make course requests and learn more about the International Baccalaureate Programs and offerings at SJHS.

Incoming 9th Grade Shadow Days
SJHS offers a Shadow Day experience to all current 8th grade students who are planning to or interested in attending SJHS in the 2025-2026 school year. Students who are interested should complete the form below. Shadow Day for 2025 will be February 13, 2025.
Middle School Students NOT Enrolled in SJUSD Schools

Students from outside the district, will need to contact SJUSD Enrollment CenterBEFORE you can contact SJHS for course requests for the 2025-26 school year. (Please be aware, Sunrise Middle School is NOT an SJUSD school and you will need to contact the Enrollment Center to enroll at SJHS as a 9th grade student.)

Students not enrolled with SJUSD will not receive a schedule on Orientation Day and may have their first day of school delayed if enrollment is not complete before August 7, 2025.
Transferring Students
If you are transferring to SJHS from outside the district and have ALREADY completed your SJUSD district enrollment, please contact SJHS to learn more about your options and pathways to graduation. Tranfering student's schedules are initially created based on course enrollment at previous school and/or graduation requirements. Students can request courses or changes at start of enrollment.
