The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) is offered at SJHS in partnership with Muwekma Ohlone Middle School for students in 6-10^th grades. All SJHS students complete the MYP program in 9^th and 10^th grades regardless of their middle school enrollment as a part of their preparation for the senior programs. 

At SJHS, the IB Middle Years Programme framework of knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and skills provide necessary foundation for the IB Diploma and Career-related Programmes. The MYP program culminates with the Personal Project, a semester-long investigation into a topic of the students’ choosing.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for students aged 16 to 19, is a balanced and academically challenging program of education with rigorous assessment. The DP prepares students for success in higher education and encourages them to become active participants in an increasingly global society. The program has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.

The Diploma Programme for 11^th and 12^th grade, prepares students for effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society as they: develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically, acquire breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding, develop the skills and a positive attitude towards learning that will prepare them for higher education, SJHS students study at least two languages and increase understanding of cultures, including their own.

The International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) is a course of study that allows 11^th and 12^th grade students to engage in both rigorous IB courses as well as career-ready courses. Students participate in at least two IB courses, a Personal and Professional Skills course, and choose a career pathway through IB, SJCC partnership, or SVCTE coursework.

Throughout the program, students improve their skills in creative and critical thinking, appreciating their own and others’ cultures, organizing and balancing work and life, problem-solving, and communicating with peers and members of the community. All of these skills will make them successful in the pursuit of further education and for our 21st-century workforce.
